Swiss Korfball will be organising something new this season: the Development Squad. The Development Squad is made up of players from the national team and players who showed great potential in the last season(s). The main goal of the Development Squad is to raise the skill level of the players, their clubs, and the national team – and to have fun of course. In the future, we also hope to increase the presence of Swiss Korfball abroad and participate in international tournaments. The Development Squad will meet a few times per season to train with various trainers, learning new playstyles, improving team play, and solidifying the foundations. The first training session will be on December 3rd in Zurich. We are also very happy to announce that Samantha Jonkman has confirmed to come to Zurich for a full afternoon of korfball. She is twice former topscorer of the Dutch top league and will be assistant trainer of the Dutch national team starting next year. Samantha will lead the first Development Squad session on December 3rd along with a train-the-trainer session afterwards, which will be open to everyone. More details about both parts of the afternoon will be communicated as soon as possible. We look forward to a great afternoon of korfball and welcoming Samantha to Switzerland!
